You get a lot of humor in a disaster zone. It’s more than a defense mechanism. It’s an acknowledgement that, hey, there’s not a lot you can do about it, but you can joke about it.
In yesterday’s sermon, the pastor mentioned a house that was nothing but a roof on the ground. The spray-painted sign out front said: “Half-off sale.”
The hurricane whipped the signs off of almost all of the roadside billboards. Most street signs are gone, as well as many business signs and some traffic signals, all of which makes giving directions quite a challenge.
But the wind also did funny things to business signs. Here are a few.
